Bowls Papanui is located in the picturesque five hectare Edgar MacIntosh Park in Condell Avenue, Christchurch. There is also a sports field for rugby and cricket, a pavilion and a children’s playground in the park.
The club opened in 1911 with a membership of 32 men. Women were admitted in 1962 with a limit of 24 lady members, a policy long since abandoned.
The two green Bowls Papanui complex boasts a large, modern, comfortable clubhouse. There is a newly renovated upstairs lounge with bar and kitchen while downstairs is a bar, kitchen, large function space and two smaller meeting rooms.
Our two 36.6m x 36.6m Maniototo weed greens are renowned for their quality and consistency and as such are often selected for use for major national and international events.
Our facilities are available for functions and “bowls experiences’ and we welcome enquiries from your group, club or business to see if we can be of help in hosting your event. There is a large, refurbished upstairs lounge with bar and kitchen facilities, and a large downstairs lounge, also with bar and kitchen facilities, a dance floor and meeting rooms.
